The Cognātarium

Index of Anomalous Word Forms

This page lists anomalous word forms. These words are derived from the morphemes listed in the main body of the Cognātarium, but the morphemes in these words are in a different form from the main entry. For example, the word auburn is derived from the Latin morpheme alb–, which means white, but the form of the word has been changed over the years along its journey from Latin to modern English via the French language.
